Subject: BIOS reset without a password

After much trying I just fixed locked up BIOS on my laptop with Phoenix v4.o rev.6 BIOS by doing this: disconnect BIOS backup battery, boot computer (will not run), switch off computer, reconnect BIOS backup battery, boot up again. Presto, back in busines with BIOS reset.
Disconnecting and re-connecting BIOS backup battery did not work.
