Subject: Ashton Digital's Passport 2000 keyboard problem

Question. Because of a fluke use of the laptop in which the machine was caused to bootup and turn off continuously for an extended period, several of the keyboard keys melted. The pads underneath those keys are still Ok and the computer is otherwise OK. Can the patient be saved? Either by key replacements or the use of a universal external keyboard? thanks for your advice.
