| Introduction to Alan Watts Alan Watts thought and wrote around 1940 to 1973 - I loved his books and his new way of thinking about old problems - But he was an intellectual going into all the acedemic discussions and justifications and complications ... Basicly his books are far too complex ... particularly for people who dont have English as native language ... my intention is to condense the best parts of his writings. --------------- I often feel the need to simplify what he is saying Im sure there are a hundred other ways to express this simple idea ... Id be interested to hear them. -------------- I was lucky enough to find an online free version of "The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are" (freely available, thank you, ... I imagine this is what he would want with his thoughts) so I was able to work and compile this without extra work. Following is a two page ultra condensed version ... and a ten page sort of half condensed version ... (the whole book is around 80 pages of A4). My own and his closing thoughts on death are on a separate thread -------------- I would love to find and simplify ... the Way of Zen ... or The Watercourse Way ... if anyone knows where they can be downloaded free ... please say Robin |
