I would say T2 is definitly more challenging than T1, but T1 has more 'cinematic' moments, and is a hell of a lot scarier than T2- there are some levels on T1 I couldn't play while I was alone in the house, they were so creepy.

After 'Kidnapped' you've got 3 more levels to go. 1 isn't that spectacular, but that last one is by far the most challenging mission in the whole series IMO.
