Very nice cover, good forum addition. I will have to review some of my Hammer flicks, its been awhile...have maybe a dozen. For now, this is basically congrats on my part to you for starting this.

I've often enjoyed the kind of updated Uni type spin offs by Hammer, but for now anyway, will indicate my all time favorite Hammer is scifi/horror film from 1967, based on a UK TV show...film went by 2 names, in UK, Quatermass and the Pit, and in US, Five Million Years to Earth. Sometimes shown on TCM and film is included in one of the Hammer sets.

Briefly, its about discovery of alien object in London's Underground during construction near a trasit station. Good suspense, strange things happen, evil aliens involved with possible past connections to earth...don't want to give more spoilers out.

Rick, nice work. Likely, good members Tim and Dan will chime in, they are quite knowledgeable with movies including Hammer...and we all respect each others expertise, and yours of course...we will all learn more and enjoy from this new forum. Many thanks.

The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)
Hammer Studios had been around a long time, but this is the film that launched them to the top of the horror universe. It was a box office smash on both sides of the Atlantic. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee star, and would soon be to Hammer what Karloff and Lugosi had been to Universal.

Horror of Dracula (1958)
Hammer takes on the Dracula legend, and does it well. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing again take the lead roles, and Lee becomes strongly identified with the Dracula role just as Lugosi had been decades earlier. Many fans see this one as Hammer's finest hour.

The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959)
Peter Cushing is Sherlock Holmes and Christopher Lee is Sir Henry Baskerville in this outstanding version of the Conan Doyle novel.

Brides of Dracula (1960)
There is no Dracula in this sequel, but Peter Cushing returns as the intrepid Van Helsing. David Peel is memorable as a charming yet menacing vampire.

The Curse of the Werewolf (1961)
I consider this the best werewolf film ever made outside of Universal’s two classics, Werewolf of London (1935) and The Wolf Man (1941). A young Oliver Reed is excellent in the title role.

Dracula--Prince of Darkness (1965)
The third entry in the Hammer Dracula series, and the second to feature Christopher Lee as Count Dracula. Not as good as the first two, but still atmospheric and suspenseful.

Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968)
Christopher Lee is back again in his most famous role. This one was a tremendous success at the box office, and turned out to be the biggest Hammer hit of them all.

Other great ones include The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958), The Mummy (1959) and Five Million Years to Earth (1967).

Tim

Glad to see a forum devoted to the Hammer films.

TOP 10 HAMMER HORROR:
Horror of Dracula
Brides of Dracula
Five Million Years to Earth
Curse of Frankenstein
Curse of the Werewolf
The Mummy
Hound of The Baskervilles
Scars of Dracula
Dracula Has Risen From the Grave
Dracula Prince of Darkness

I haven't watched theses films in several years, so I'm going to try to watch all the Dracula, Frankenstein, Werewolf and Mummy Hammer series all through this month to refresh my memory on them.
