The next time I need surgery, I am calling on you. Medical school is highly overrated. You could have put me to sleep, cut me open, clamped off some veins and arteries and yanked out my kidney.

This was a HORRIBLE experience and I think I would have done better in your care.

I am ashamed to admit it but I was freaked out and was bawling and begging the night before to not have it done. Dad had the nurses "give me something" to calm me down.

Mom was not allowed in the pre-op area like she normally is. So I was there with all these people poking at me and asking me questions. I was kept awake and alert all the way into the operating room so the doctor could explain what he was going to do to me. Honestly, I could have missed the explanation.

I guess the surgery went well - I was sort of knocked out.

I had anesthesia problems and they could not get me awake. I was put in ICU and my parents, brothers and girlfriend were told to expect me to "be in a coma" or perhaps even in a "vegetative state" due to "complications from anesthesia." Fortunately, I woke up. I heard things were rather tense and sad for a while, again, I was sleeping so I don't know. I just know Mom and Dad, Caleb, Mark, and Julie looked a mess when I finally saw them.

I was sick and I hurt like hell. Due to my "anesthesia issues" they were afraid for me to have too much pain medication. UGH!!! Finally, I was allowed to have something when it was determined I wasn't going to die.

Anyway, have Judge Dylan proclaim that Dr. Dylan is certified for surgery and I will be giving you a call if there is a next time.

I hate Vanderbilt! I like my hospital and my doctors at my home hospital. And, at my home hospital, they let my Mom or Dad be with me in the pre-op room. I would not want to go and have a hang nail removed at Vanderbilt. It is so impersonal and "academic."

So, Dr. Dylan, are you up to it?

Hi PJ,

Sorry your surgery was so rough. Dylan's dad had a rough time after his hernia surgeries (let's just say his first dinner became projectile and he moved like a 90 year old....). His shoulder surgery a few months later went really well. He was in and out, home by like 9:30 that morning. Best part about that was that it took his spanking arm out of service for a few months (!!!)

I guess what I'm saying is that not all surgeries are the same. Hope you never need another one, but if it happens, I'm sure it will go better.

Dr Dylan
YouTube trained surgeon

P.S. Judge Dylan says I have to watch a few more videos on line before I can be certified. He's so picky sometimes. I'll let him pick the toppings next time we go for burgers and then he'll be happy.

Well, get to watching. Also I took the liberty of ordering "Surgery For Dummies" for Dr. Dylan from Amazon.

I think Judge Dylan likes extra pickles and dijon mustard.

I await your certification.

Thanks for the book. I hope it's not the same UPS driver Rat has.

As for burgers, Judge Dylan always picks salsa. We go out lots of Wednesdays for a burger/fries/drink special near here. The restaurant has a bar where you can fix up your own burger, and that's his favorite. I'm more of a standard pickles and ketchup kind of guy.

Ketchup! On a burger? Yuck! You sound like Caleb. I only use ketchup for fries. I like pickles, lettuce, tomatoe, mustard and 1000 island dressing.

I have another idea for making His Honor happy. Send his wig out to be re-powdered.

PJ,

Please be careful who you address your notes to. I'll forward your message. It's Dr Dylan who does the ketchup. I tend to go for mushroom and swiss. So, on any given trip only one of the three of us gets our favorite.

Fortunately, we're all OK with the other options. If we weren't Dr Dylan would start singing Let it Be and You Can't Always Get What You Want. What Judge Dylan and I DON'T want is for Dr Dylan to sing..... That's just painful.

P.S. Yes, serious ketchup on the fries. Fortunately, the meal comes on a tray where it's easy to squirt lots of ketchup right next to the fries.

P.P.S. Now I'm hungry. Maybe I can talk the PoD into going out for burgers????
