My play was Friday night in the auditorium at our school, and it went really, really good! My music teacher wrote the whole thing, and even wrote the songs in it. It's kind of like that old fairy tale Hansel and Gretel except in our play their Daddy doesn't leave them out in the woods, they just get lost, but they find the house made out of candy, and the witch catches them, and they trick her and get away, but they don't cook her in the oven. I played Hansel and this girl in the fourth grade named Miranda played Gretel. Gage played one of the kids the witch had locked up, and some bigger kids from the 7th and 8th grade played the grown-ups like the witch and the kids' Moms and Dads, and a Policeman. There was five songs in the play and I got to solo on two, and I sang one with Miranda, and the other two all the kids in the play sang. Boy, I sure did have fun Friday night? We worked real hard getting ready, but being up on the stage in front of all our families was a blast!! All the kids did good, and nobody forgot their lines or the words to the songs. Mom and Daddy and Marcus sat real close to the stage, so I could see them while I was up there. Daddy recorded the whole thing, and Marcus laughed real loud at the funny parts. Mom was crying sometimes, and that would've scared me but Daddy told me ahead of time that she might do that. I just don't understand grown-ups sometimes! I had a really good time doing this play, and I think I might do some more sometime. My music teacher said I did a great job, and so did Mom and Daddy. I think I like acting and singing. Oh Rat, guess what? I did get to wear overalls in the play! They were just plain blue overalls, but it was fun to wear them, AND me and Miranda got to go barefoot the whole play! It's getting late, so I better finsh this up before I get in trouble. Me and Marcus have both been doing real good the last few weeks about not getting any spankings, and I don't want to be the first one to mess that up with a red bottom!! Bye.
