Does anyone get in trouble for grades? It is not an issue with us but if it were as long as we were doing our best and trying, Mom and Dad would get us help not punish us. Now if we were just not trying . . . .

I thought about it because we got grade reports today. A kid in my English class made a 67 and he was really worried. He told me his dad was "gonna bust his a** big time tonight."

I don't get into "trouble" for grades. My folks know I do my best, and that is all they ask of me. It has not been an issue at my house, either!!

Like PJ said, "now if we were not trying..." that would be a different story.

Sorry to hear about the kid getting a 67 in English. If he was having trouble with English his teacher should have been talking to him to improve his study habits or offer to help him more to help improve or if they couldn't get someone else to help him to improve grades during the marking period leading up to final tests and grades.

I feel sorry for the kid. I hope his dad doesn't "bust" his butt big time, but will think things through and offer to help him improve his English or find someone who can help! He deserves another chance before getting spanked!

In our house we do get punished for bad grades. And that almost always means a spanking. It has been a real long time since I have gotten a really bad grade. I mostly get A's and B's. But a couple weeks ago when my big sister Lauren got a D on her math test both mom and dad let her have it. Me and my other brothers and sister could hear the spanks and her crying. She also got her cell phone taken away which is like her life. As long as I keep up my good work I should be in the clear.

Like PJ said with regards to his family and grades. My folks never punished provided I was trying my best. Let me goof off or not do an assignment and I'd get chewed out or tail busted. If I struggled with a class, I could ask for help at school or my folks worked with me at home on my assignments. I think that is the approach that should be taken with regards to grades.
