Yes, it is early but we operate on a non-traditional/year-round schedule.

We get to start school tomorrow - Thursday, 8/1.

I will be a senior!

Tomorrow is a half day for orientation and paperwork and such things.

I plan on being class president so I can speak at graduation. I got knocked out of being valedictorian.

(Mark): Hi PJ,

Sounds like you have some great classes. I noticed
you have a class Drama and Theatre. That sounds like
a really cool class, especially with you loving music
and to sing and all.

That got me to thinking. Did your school do a musical
production this past year like usual and I know you
always liked to be in it, etc. I believe the last
musical I remember you being in was "The Lion King"
and you got to wear a cool lion costume and sing, a
take off from the Walt Disney film. Was you in a muscial
this year and get to star in it or have a leading part
and sing?

Here in our community is an adult theatre group and they do shows as a non-profit group, and somtimes do Broadway Shows and other times non-Broadway Show. They sometimes ask kids
who are seniors in high school to join their group, and it seems to be kids who usually have been in our own school
choir-musical group. Last year the teen group did White Christmas which was really cool. Is there an area theatre
group in your area you might join?

(Drew): Hi PJ. Good to see you posting. I wanted to say
hi to you. Good to see that you and Julie are still going
together. Susan and I are still together, and will always
be unless something happens.

Are to believe you and Nerd, and I, Mark, Sean and Jake
will be seniors this year in school. See your school
started classes this week already. Boy, what a short
summer for you and everyone. I hope you have a great
year in school. This is the year people tell us that
memories for a lifetime should be made. So I hope you
do.

Good to hear your baby brother and sister are doing
good. JB has a stubborness in him? He better break
that happen in 5 or 6 years or that little behind of
his then might feel something he wished he didn't
feel or do you think your folks might ease up on
discipline with a New Generation? Good talking with
you.

(Mark): Have a great weekend PJ. Bet you and Julie
will have some fun doing something? Just found out
that a nearby community is having their annual 4-H
County Fair with rides, shows, and everything. Holly
and I hope to get over there next week sometime before
I, Drew, Jake and Sean have to leave for the basketball
and football camps for 2-weeks.

Take care and have a great upcoming week in school!

The Lion King was year before last and, yes, I did wear a Simba suit and sing a couple of songs.

This year they did Sound of Music but I was not in the play this year. I was just not healthy enough at the time.

There are some local theater groups I could join but I will probably just stick with the school production this year.

Drew, good to hear from you and I am glad you and Susan are well.

Have fun at the fair. Our county fair is in three weeks.

Hi PJ,

This past year's school music production was "Sound of
Music"? That would be a cool show to do. There is a
movie by that same title, but I've only seen just scenes
from that movie so I would imagine your threate production
was based on this? I like old movies and we get a channel
that my folks and grandparents like called Turner's Classic
Movie Channel and sometimes they show the "Sound of Music"
on that channel at holiday season time, but I've never seen
the entire movie. I understand it made a star of Julie
Andrews. She became famous for the Disney movie "Mary Poppins" too.

You was not health enough to be in the show? Did you get "sick" again or something? I hope not. I hate it when
that happens. I know you do too, and I know you can't
help it, but gee a guy can only take so much. Why does
this have to happen?

I and Holly, along with Drew & Susan and Jake & Kelly and Sean and Jennifer had a great time at the fair yesterday. We sure did ride the rides. You can purchase a wristband
and ride unlimited. Holly and I really love riding the
ferris wheel. Especially when they have to stop and let
new riders on, and were on top and it allows us some "quality time" if you know what I mean? They had some
great free stage shows and some open mike. You would have
loved that!

Pigged out on fair food, too! Have to keep my tapeworm
Marvin happy. LOL.

Your county fair is in 3 weeks? You and Julie going? Do you have a favorite ride you two like riding together?

So, how is school going? I expect half-days now will be
full days? I can't believe how fast the summer is going, and next month I'll be back in school. Daylight sure is
getting shorter too.

When do you do your run for Class President? I hope you
win! Don't promise what you can't deliver like some of
today's politicans do so they get elected. LOL.

Hey that Simba suit, I remember that. Didn't that come in
handy and you wore it for a Halloween costume? That had to
be a cool outfit!

Have to run, but I wanted to say "hi" and to say have a great week at school! I will continue to enjoy my summer
vacation.

Congratulations on being a senior. A final and very important year in your education. Your class is now in the leadership role for all underclassmen. If you become Senior Class President that is an exceptional honor that comes with what I expect are leadership responsibilities. Wish you well in this and throughout your senior year.

Saw your posted senior year curriculum. Impressive and if I'm reading correctly, that's Honors English. You are obviously a bright young man. Apparently Julie is your 'special lady'. Nice that you can share a couple classes together. Just remember not to become a distraction to each other in those classes. Focus on the class and not each other during those periods. I know some back in my day regarded senior year as an opportunity to 'kick back' some & that proved a mistake in some cases.

Again best wishes for a great new academic year.

Thanks, I found out I am unopposed for President. So, that is good!

We are a small class (only 97) but I still am looking forward to it. At our school, the valedictorian and the Class President speak at graduation. I was in first place but I had some issues with Trigonometry and, even though I dropped the class, the damage was done. I will graduate third. I am a ham and enjoy the spotlight. BTW, Julie is going to be the valedictorian. A note about graduation: Our school graduates on the first Monday of June. My birthday is June 2. Look at a 2014 calendar and smile.

Yes, Julie is my GF. We have been together for 3 years. Her father happens to be the principal so we try to behave. :D We have had classes together before and we do well with it.

AP English is an honors class but it also qualifies me to sit for an exam that, if I pass, will grant me college credit in English 1010 and 1020. I enjoy all classes except Math which is ironic. Mom is a math teacher. She is currently on sabbatical earning her PhD and taking care of us kids.

Thanks for the kind reply.

Good news on the class president election. When will it be official? Nice that both you & Julie will have speaking roles at graduation. Ya'll...turn 18 the day before the graduation. Nice b-day gift I'd say.

Ever feel odd having your gf's dad as principal? Classmates ever think or say you get 'special treatment' from him by dating his daughter? Bet you both do stay on best behavior under that circumstance. Dating for 3 years means likely through all HS years so far. Have you ever gotten into a 'small prank' or mess & end up sent to the office to get chewed out by him? Put you in detention or notify parents & get you in trouble at home?

Honors call & sitting for an exam to earn college level credits sounds really good. Congratulations!!

Is your small class size of 97 because your school is a private/charter school or just a smaller community with a smaller public school enrollment?

Election is today. Speeches were yesterday.

I actually graduate ON my birthday. Julie's is March 31.

This is only his second year as principal so we were dating before he got there. Yeah, I've gotten "special treatment" from him before. Real special. :D

We skipped together once when he was principal and didn't get caught. Before he was principal, we sneaked into a workroom to make out and the former principal busted us.

Our school is a mid-size private school

Congratulations again on your class election. Sorry about the calendar error when checking June 2014 for your b-day & graduation being the same day. Wow!! really special.

What has been the REAL SPECIAL TREATMENT you've gotten from Julie's dad as principal? Had you 2 been caught skipping, what was the usual school penalty for that? How did you avoid being noticed as 'absent' that day?

How were you & Julie dealt with when busted in the workroom by the previous principal? Think it would've been worse had it happened & caught by Julie's dad? If I was a dad & a guy was caught with my daughter (sounds like it may have been when you both were 14 or 15) making out in a workroom, I'd likely skin both little hides & whether you got grounded or not, she would've been so you both would have time to think about what you did.

Oh!! the fun or those teenage years. I remember mine too, so not really being hard on you PJ. Understand well the thinking & hormones back then too at your age.

Have a great senior year.
