The boy is 11 years old, the girl is 9. No, I haven’t witnessed them getting spanked and I am not keen to spank them either but I know that they expect to be punished that way by me. Sometime ago I was with the kids at their place. They were in the garden and Mark managed to ruin his sister’s art project. It was an accident but he was quite clumsy and knew better than to play with the ball in the porch. When I arrived, Ann was crying and Mark was saying he was sorry. I sent him to his room and told him to wait for me. He stopped dead, eyes wide. He tried to say something but he just blushed red and scrambled to obey. I talked with Ann, calmed her down, explained that Mark did not want to ruin her work and that accidents happen and they have to be careful to avoid them. She nodded, stopped crying, hugged me and asked me not to spank her brother! I realized that when dad sends them to their rooms to wait for him, generally, a spanking is in order. Or children are 2 to 11 years-old. Welcome to the forum. We had used spanking as a part of our discipline with our children, but were lax with its use.
