PJ,
Thanks for the kind words, I just want to say you are welcome for the support.
I read your other post about why your football days are over, I know it is hard to accept, but I think you made the right decision. I know you could play the next two years and probably nothing serious would happen, but if it did, I understand the consequences could be severe. AS much fun as I have had playing football, if it were me, I don't think it is worth the risk. I want to encourage you to stay involved with the team, if it is stats or whatever. And if it is not sports, find something else at your school and church to get involved in - music, drama, debate, newspaper or whatever.
I am home alone tonight, just me and Grizzly holding down the fort. Brooks is at the state wrestling tournament and mom and dad drove out to watch and are staying in a hotel.
School, basketball practice tonight and a home game tomorrow has kept me here. Brady is away at college.
In his opening match today, Brooks pulled off the upset. There are 16 kids in each weight class and they are ranked 1-16 based on their records, finish in the Regional tournament, etc. Being this is his first year wrestling, a so-so season record, a 7th place finish in the Regional, he was ranked #13 and had to wrestle #4 in his opening match, but he managed the upset. The match was close. but Brooks managed to pin him early in the third period.
Brooks lost his next match and is now in the consolation bracket, the best he can finish now is 3rd place. He has a couple of matches tomorrow and the finals on Saturday.
Take care of yourself and get well. And wear your lettermans jacket with pride, you earned it.
