Why? I like the feel of it!
One afternoon, after Dad was home from work, and Mom was working her then new part-time "get her out of the house" job, It was raining hard and I had just completed my newspaper route delivering our city's one surviving afternoon newspaper, now sadly long defunct as well.
Knowing Dad was out of his suit, and that he NEVER went back in the master bedroom until after dinner, I used the rain as an excuse to change my clothes. My little brother was down on the walk-out Basement floor with the TV on trying desperately to phone fuck a girl I didn't even know.

I had carefully planned this out, and I knew exactly which of Mom's pull-on panty girdles I was going to try.
Kept it on until I could not risk Mom getting home and catching me!

After that I was hooked.
Another year and I was driving and was able to do catalog mail orders, and pick them up from the department store's mail order desk.

Favorite?
No doubt the Young Smoothie 3521, which is sadly out of production. I had also worn the 1421, and 1521, but much preferred the 3521 because the back and hip panels were made of that so called "Downstretch" fabric of the day.
It in fact WOULD would stretch in the vertical but not horizontal. The 1421 and 1521 had non-stretch nylon. Harder to keep in place.

As far as today nearly all my girdles now are from Rago, mostly the firmer models.

Their "Cortland" division has tried to knock-off some of the Classic girdles, but it's never the same!
