I have severe allergies that cause allergy induced asthma. Last week I got a bad cough and chest cold on Thursday and missed school. On Friday, I started wheezing, so mom said she would call the Dr. and have either her or dad take me if she could get an appt. She came home from work about 2:30 and took me to him. After I checked in and sat down for a couple minutes, the nurse came and took me back. She told mom she to come back, which I didn't want.The nurse had me sit on the exam table and take my shirt off, but leave on my t-shirt.She took my vitals and left. In just few minutes, the Dr. came in and examined me.He said I needed some antibitics, and the nurse would be back in. Mom and I chatted about what kind of pills and so on. The nurse came back in with a tray of 2 bottles of meds and 4 shots.I said those are so long and big. Are those for me I asked? She said that these will go in your bottom. OH no please don't give shots in my bottom. She said it takes a big muscle and it goes in deep. She told me to take my shoes and pants off and get comfortable on the table on my tummy. After she filled the shots, she turned around and said "oh you don't have briefs on, so the underware has to come down." She had me raise my bottom up and she pulled them down past my cheeks. She said these shots are very painful. 1 type of med is cold, and the other feels like my bottom is on fire. She told me she gives the cold one first, then the other one.She asked which side first, I said it doesn't matter. She swabbed my left side and I squeezed my cheeks real tight. She told me to relax and tell when I was ready. I did and she gave me the first one. It hurt so bad that I got tears in my eyes. When she gave me the next one, my bottom felt like there was a fire in it. I cried out loudly and tried to move around. She did the other side, and it was just as bad. When she was done, my bottom was so sore that I couldn't hardly move. When we got home, mom made up 2 ice packs that I sat on, which helped. I had a checkup for the Friday,but I had to see him the following Monday. He said I was O.K.,but he was going to give my pnuemonia and tetnaus shots. Mom spoke up and told him to check my shot records, and give me any of my boosters I need.The nurse came in and had 8 shots for me. She said these will go in your bottom, so get ready. I said oh great, this is all I need,another sore bottom. I got ready and she gave me 4 in my bottom.She gave me 2 in each thigh, which wasn't that bad. Of all this I didn't want mom to see my bottom, because I'm a big boy now. Both times my bottom was bruised and sore for 2 or 3 days. Mandi, tell about your shots. I hope they weren't as bad as mine. I've had enough sore bottom for awhile.LOL.
