In reply to: Tim 's message, "To Mandi" on Monday, April 25, 2011, 05:56: am

well tim as for the tiny comment i am only 107lbs. i am 23 and live in PA. and u scared me a little bit with ur comment, it sounds like antibiotic injections really really really hurt. so based upon ur answer i might not get an injection now, i might stick with oral meds. i am a person who does not handle pain well and if i got an antibiotic injection then i would be screaming and crying for them to take it out and give me oral meds. so idk if an injection would be my best option. i just thought about an injection because i have been sick for a month now and seem to be gettign worse. at this point i def know i have a sinus infection, and most likely a bad case of bronchitis to. so i like i said i was thinking about an injection because i heard that it works faster then oral meds and i want to get better, but since u said the injection hurts like hell times 10 then i think i will stick with oral meds.

Mandi,
Take some Azithromycin and you'll start feeling better in 3-4 days. If you find it upsets your stomach, eat before you take it. On the first dose you take 2, then 1 a day thereafter. Unless someone is seriously ill, there is no reason for a shot. At least in New York we think this way...I haven't seen a doctor give a Penicillin shot in a longgggg time. I know my doctor avoids them...Other States may have a different attitude...Take the pills and you should start feeling better fast....Tim

Yes, Im the same Tim. Theres over 5 different antibiotic pills to choose from. Try Cipro or Keflex. Let your doctor decide. There's no guarantee that even a shot will work. If what you have is viral, antibiotics won't cure it...But I have had a Staff infection in my blood and all of my vains turned red, and pills took care of it in 2-3 days.....Tim

If you change your mind next time I prefer shots and I use to be very uncomfortable with needles. It feels like a sting similar to an aunt bite and the medicine will feel like pressure and a bit of a dull pain but nothing unbearable. I get a shot and I'm done with it.

Your comment reminds me of a beautiful young hotel housekeeper who told me that she preferred treatment by injection because of its efficiency even though she sometimes couldn't sit comfortably afterwards. Whenever she was off-duty owing to illness, I enjoyed visualising her getting a shot in her shapely bare bottom.

Smart move. With the shot, the best you could hope for is a bad pain when you walk or sit for a few days.....who wants that?

I had to get an emergency steroid shot for severe step in my hip and two antibiotic shots in my thighs and am 12o ibs. I'm usually amazing with pain and I was sobbing the whole time wanting them to stop. Doc didn't warn me and stabbed the first one I to my hip and I flinched and tensed. Worst pain from a doctor I've had, have to go in for two more today. Absolutely dreading it. Avoid it if you can my legs still kill from yesterday and the skinnier you are the worse it hurts. My strep is no where near the pain of these, after this I will refuse them.

They do hurt. But it's not so bad. Of you get someone who knows what they are doing. If the oral is t working ask for a diffrent antibiotic. You have a rest a resistance strand to what ever antibiotic you are takeing
