 I am 48 years old and still traumatized by countless penicillin shots I got as a kid. I do not go to the doctor when I am ill because of it. I'm sure the shots must have hurt like hell but what traumatized me was the feeling of utter helplessness and vulnerability lying face down on the exam table as the nurse pulled down my pants and gave me a shot. That nurse was a member of our church back then and I was always embarrassed to see her on Sunday morning at services. To this day I cannot sleep in the prone position because it reminds me of getting awful shots in my butt. I also get very embarrased when I hear someone mention shots. I guess reading these messages is a way of coping for me. I am truly messed up from those experiences.

THANKs fr you reply and atleast some one else understand how it can affect me all these yrs later.THERE was no privacy when i got needles in my ass exam room door wide open and once right in the waiting area she pulled my pants down and under wear down.THE pain was horrible even how they held me in exam rooms was horrible.YEA i feel weird on my belly makes me too feel like i am in the needle getting position.if u want to talk /i can send u private email of more detials/THANKS again for reply
