I don’t know when I really first overcame my fear of needles, at one time I did have a fear of them, getting a shot or needle in me was not a fun time, I grew up in the 1970’s things were different back then, my pediatrician was a woman and she was very stern and strict, I did not like going to see her, she also liked to give SHOTS! I found this out years later, when I would go to see her for a physical she would give me a shot in my arm, I would sit there with my Mother right next to me and watch as she gave me the shot, the sharp needle sliding into my arm, I would yell OW! the Doctor would just give me a look, telling me it’s not that bad. I got a Band Aid on my arm and just sat there holding my arm looking at the site where the needle had just gone in my arm trying to hold back tears, however, I finally did get over my fear of needles and Injections as I got older, I started lifting weights to get my arms in shape, still I will never forget getting that very first needle in me.
