In case of ear infections they often give an antibiotic which in English-speaking countries is usually known as rocephin. But the name actually varies around the world. Anyway, my wife experiences recurrent ear infections (and other more or less related). So she has received this antibiotic multiple times in varying amounts. Although she is now in her 30-thies and experienced also a natural childbirth without much complaining for pain, she usually ends up in squeezing my hands and crying like a child when she is getting these injections. Then serious difficulties with walking and prolonged pain follow. It's a particularly vicious stuff - even with lidocaine! The situation is additionally worsened by the fact, that she is quite skinny - the medicine seems like "blowing up" her small buttocks, with extreme pain radiating into leg. When consecutive injections in a series are repeated into the same buttock every 2 days, the pain gets even worse, as her buttocks do not offer much place for alternative injection sites.
