Subject: Ear and Throat pain

Yesterday I went to an urgent care center concerning my throat and sinuses. While I was there it was determined that I had strep and a sinus infection as well as an ear infection.

I was told that it was to be treated with steroids and antibiotics, which I thought would be in pill form, but the doctor informed me that the nurse would return with two shots.

When the nurse returned she informed me to stand and learn against the table with my pants down far enough to expose my hip. Not knowing what to expect I asked if the shots could be given in the arm and she told me that these shots had to be administered in a large muscular area.

The antibiotic shot, rocephin, I was told would burn once it was injected but she had mixed it with a solution to take away some of the sting. The steroid shot, decadron, would burn a few seconds after the needle was pulled out of my skin.

First I was given the decadron shot, which I barely felt as she injected me and not long after I felt the burning sensation she was referring to as the needle was pulled from my skin.

Next was the rocephin shot, which I was felt as soon the needle pierced my skin and once she pressed down on the plunger to inject the medication in my bum I was in near tears. I have to say that this was the worse shot I have received in my life. Not long after I was given the shots I was allowed to leave but I left with a limp from the rocephin shot.

I hope I never have to go through that again.

Well, your fantasy stories are getting a little better. At least now it was a female nurse. I will say you are learning. Same tired old stories though.
