When I was little, I struggled and cried but they held me down. My butt was clenched tight and the shot always hurt. When I was older, we went to clinic for school shots and there was usually a line of kids getting shots. There was almost always a few I knew. It was worse if it was a girl. Even out in the hall we caught a glimpse of undies coming down. And you heard each other yelp when the needle went in. One time a girl I knew told me she thought my red print boxers were cute. I wanted to die.

Among my most embarrassing experiences was the time a girl I knew from school heard from the waiting room when the nurse told me to drop trousers, pull down pants and bend over for a shot. I emerged to see her grinning and rubbing her own bottom in mock sympathy.
