Subject: Question about shots, temperature taking and enemas

I read in many posts of the amazing fear many had of having to get their temperature taken rectally; or having to get an enema.

I can understand that any of these procedures can create sexual arousal in later years; but what I don't understand is why people are afraid of these things?

I had my temperature taken rectally as a kid and it didn't phase me at all. It may be a little uncomfortable but I definitely didn't mind it compared to a shot!

When I was 18 I had my first enema at a doctors office. It was uncomfortable but nowhere near as scary as a shot?

It was always the word shot that would make me freak out. The other stuff didn't hurt. A shot always hurt like crazy.

Can someone please explain why so many people were terrified of enemas or rectal temperatures?

Thanks

Tim

I think it's mostly related to the memories of when they were children, when something like rectal temperature and enemas looked like something big and painful. For example I used to think suppositories were quite painful but I've been starting using those again when needed and I don't think they're painful at all. I think it's just a psychological thing.
Also, if you want to exchange injection stories I'd like to read some and get some advices

To Dalnj,
Thank you for your answer. I just never found anything other than shots to be painful so I didn't mind anything else....
