I don't remember of a real spanking but it was common when I was young even until the end of teenagehood to get slapped one time on one cheek of the butt just before a shot by a female nurse either at a medical office or at hospital or at summer camp or school nurse office if you were sick, or even also later by a military doctor even at military physical exammination induction with shots on the butts, it was just after that the nurse or doctor put the syringe on the other cheek of butt to give a shot, it was normally considered as the best way to decrease the pain by distracting you when you got slapped on the other cheek, it was really a very widespread practice in France in the 60 ' and 70's too, I don't know for today
