The topic is Painful shots. I've had buttocks shots, and yes they could cause some pain and discomfort followed by a few days of sore butt muscles. But if you never had to go through the ordeal, known as the Pasteur Treatment, aka "rabies shots", given for 21 days in the abdomen, you might have a difficult time truly appreciating "painful shots". The treatment was as stated for 21 days, long needles, a thick serum at that time, and pretty intense pain as the needle went into your belly, tenderness and soreness in the abdominal area and a bit of a task for the person (Dr. or RN) giving the injection, to find a spot that hadn't been punctured by a needle. 21 days didn't leave much room for clear spots on a small child's stomach. And the same ordeal was undergone by teens and adults too, back in the 50s and 60s. I was 91/2 when I got them. No fun, VERY painful.
