I went to a Urgent care facility yesterday to get me tetanus shot. I was placed in a room and given a form to fill out. At the sign in desk there was a sign that said all injections are given in the hip. I am 22 and I could not remember getting a shot in my butt since I was a baby. So I am sitting in this room for 20 minutes knowing at any moment I am going to get jabbed in my butt. I was thinking about having to bare my butt to a total stranger, get poked and the pain afterwards. The door opened and the male nurse comes in a lays a syringe down on the counter and says I will be back in a moment. He comes back 5 minutes later and closes the door. He can tell I am nervous. He said I can give you this in your arm and it will be very tender for 3-4 days or if you get it in your butt within an hour your should not even know you had it. That is because as you walk you work it into your muscle. You are a slender girl and don't have much muscle in your arm. I got up on the gurney and unbuckled my jeans and pulled them down. I laid on my stomach. He slipped my panties below my butt cheeks. he had my point my toes inward telling me it relaxed my butt muscle. I felt him slowly rub the cold alcohol pad across my right cheek. he placed his hand firmy on my cheek, pinched my muscle and darted the needle into my hip and slowly injected talking with me the whole time. I felt his finger massaging my hip and he pulled up my panties and said all done. I didn't even know he had stuck me. He was awesome. All that worrying for nothing. I have heard other people say that it hurts so bad to get a shot in your butt. He was really good.
