Hello all, I have enjoyed reading these posting and can say I do relate to some of them. I like a few others never thought I would cry at age 42 with getting injections in my rear end.

I am a single male and I live with my dad again now. Just moved in with him about maybe 7 months ago. Mom passed away and I hated to see him alone I am an only child so decided I would.

I will be starting a new job and was informed I will need to go get a physical which it has to be at least 8 years since I had one. I asked my dad if maybe his doctor could give me a physical. He has been seeing this doctor for years and an older doctor and usually just sees a few senior citizens now. My dad said he would call and ask, the doctor told my dad he usually does not do that but for him he would so my dad set appointment up for Saturday morning (yesterday). My dad said he would go along with me which I was fine with.

When we got there his nurse had me fill in a medical questionnaire, was glad my dad was there because I did not know the answer to many of the questions about childhood stuff. When it came to questions on vaccinations I could not remember any since I was a kid. My dad only remembered some of them from my childhood. Handed the paperwork in and waited maybe 15 minutes and I was called in, the doctor told my dad he was welcomed to join us and he did.

I striped down to my briefs for the B/P and temp. After the nurse did that she told to take my briefs off and get on the scale. Really did not seem weird being naked in front of my dad as I swim in our pool nude and I do walk around in the nude at home. I had gained maybe like 5 lbs. but not really overweight. The doctor then checked me head to toe really gave me a very good physical. When he was done he asked me about the shoots because I left those blank. I did explain to him I really could not remember when I last had one or what it would of even been for. He said he would get me caught up with them, and the nurse went and get the needles ready. The doctor told me just to bend over the exam table as the shoots would be in my rear.

I bent over the table and the doctor was talking with my dad as we waited for the nurse. I heard him tell my dad that he will give 5 today and for him to bring me back for three others next week. I was starting to feel a little nervous because I have read hear about a few of you getting 5 and how it did hurt. The nurse came back out and she did tell me they may sting a little but nothing too bad. The first needle did sting, the second one did hurt going in and it also did sting and told her it did hurt. The third one looked bigger than the first two and the walked over and he did tell this one will hurt a little. When she started to put it in tears did start and I told her it was really hurting me, the doctor told me just to say still and I was crying not hard but was crying. He told me the next two will go in my other side, still crying I asked if I really needed the other two now and he said yes. When the fourth one went in I began to cry very hard, my dad told me to stop that I needed them. By the last one I will I dad scream and was crying even harder now. The nurse had me stay bent over the table for awhile when she was done. The doctor told that my rear will be hurting for a few days now. he told my dad he could but ice packs on my rear and that will help and he did tell me it will hurt to sit also, I found that out on the ride home I think I was crying all the way home. When we were leaving the doctor said he will see me on Thursday for follow up and the last few shoots. I told my dad I really did not want to go back, but he said I need to. My rear end is still hurting today and is black and blue.

I would love to hear from others hear who have had this done and let me know how long this will hurt. Also how did it feel if you needed to go back.

Thank you very much.

For a grown man to cry from booster shots and require his father's presence seems a bit of exaggeration.

I get regular travel boosters in my bottom every six months and, when everything expires at once, it is eight injections (four in each buttock). Although the after-effects can leave me unable to sit down for a day or so, the shots are just brief stings when I get them - never enough to provoke tears.

I suppose it's believable that any age person can cry getting shots. We all have different tolerances to pain.....
