This morning I had a young 21 year old female present to my treatment cubicle for a shot of B12 that the NP had ordered for her. I got a 3cc syringe with 20g needle and opened it and drew up the medication. She told me that is going to make my arm sore and I said no , but it might sting in your bottom. I said this has to go in a large muscle and your bottom is the best place. She said I have not had a shot in the rear since I was a little girl. I instructed her to come over and bend over the exam table. She unsnapped her jeans. I pushed them down to the bottom of her butt cheeks.She was wearing a [air of mint green satin panties. Her buttocks were firm and round. I went over and got a 22g 1 inch needle and told her to relax. I showed her it was a smaller needle. I wiped an area on her right hip, placed my hand on her butt and quickly inseted the needle up to the hub. She yelled out as the needle went in, I told her to relax and slowly injected the medication. After I pulled out the needle I used a cotton swab and gently massaged the site on her right hip. She stood up and pulled up her panties and jeans . She told me it was not as bad as she thought it would be. I told her I would see her next month and this time she would get it in her left cheek.

I know B12 can be given IM or deep SQ, but I prefer the IM - it doesn't leave a lump. I use a 25 gauge 1 1/2 inch (light blue) and don't feel the stick at all, maybe just a bit of pressure from the 2cc, but it never burns. My wife gives a good shot, too. I started out almost 30 years ago using the 22g (black) needles, and they did hurt a bit; 25g never does.

I was making a work visit as we go out in the community and give people thier shots so they do not have to take off from work. My patient yesterday works at a local Hyatt at the front desk. When I showed up and asked for her and toild her why I was there her eyes got really big. it turns out she is a college student working so her doctor ordered B12 while she was in school and this was her seond shot. I asked if there was a location where we go in private. She watched as I drew up her shot. She said the last one really hurt. She said it was an older nurse and she was not very nice. I told her it was going in her bottom and that it would help if would lay on the desk in the room we were in. She bent over the desk. I raised up her dress above her waist. I pulled down her hose. Her butt was pretty fully exposed as she had on a black thong. I wiped her left hip and then squeezed it a few times and quickly darted in the needle. She tensed up I injected and pulled out the needle. I told her I was done and she could not beleive it. She said that was a lot better. I told her I would come back next month. She said I would appreciate it.

I had two female students that came in for a their first vitamin B12 injection. Our FNP gives out a lot of b12 injections during finals week for students who are staying up studying for finals. The first girl was a 21 year old brunette. I drew up her shot as she watched in a 20g 3cc syringe. I told her to go over and lie on her stomach on the exam table. I flipped up her skirt and she was wearing a tiny thong. I told her to point her toes inward to relax her muscle. She jumped as I hit her butt with the needle. She said ouch as I injected. I massaged her hip a few times and then flipped down her skirt. She got up rubbing her butt. it has been a along time since I had a shot in my butt. I told her if she needed another one next month to come back. The next girl I knew from my spinning class. She had a tight little butt that I always admired from sitting behind her on my bike. She also watched as I drew up the injection. I told her to unfasten her jeans and lie on her stomach. She said that is going in my butt. I said yes it is. She pushed down her jeans and then laid flat on the table. She had on a pair of red satin panties. I pulled them down. She had a tiny tan line line running across the top of her butt cheeks. I grabbed a handful of her tiny bottom and placed then needle deep in her butt and slowly injected. She started saying ouch ouch as I injected. I massaged her butt a few times and then placed a bandiad on her bottom. She said that shot hurt like hell. I told her yes it does. This morning at class she patted her butt and told me it still hurts.
