This morning I was up in the NICU xraying a newborn. The pediatrician was trying to focus the machine over the baby and accidentally smacked me in the head with the machine almost knocking me out and causing a small laceration to my forehead. I was able to finish the films and then Don my nurse friend on the unit took me down to the ER to get examined. The doctor gave me the option of getting 2 stictches or a couple of steri strips. I opted for the steri strips. I then had to go get a head CT which came back normal. I told the doctor besides being a little nauseated I was fine. He said well you are off for today. he then told Don to give me 4mg zofran and DTAP. Don came back in the room and drew up the zofran in one syringe and then put a needle on the DTAP syringe. I was then told to lie on the gurney. He untied my scrubs in the back and pulled them down to my knees. I had on a pair of white panties that said PINK RULES. He pulled them down tomy knees. I saw him pick up the syringe with the yellow needle. I felt him place his hand across my hip and then I jumped as he put the neelde in my hip and injected. Stings a little he told me. He massage my hip and said one more and once again I jumped as he stuck the second needle in my hip. He stood there rubbing my sore bottom. What a day I told him. I get hit in the head, have to bare my butt to a friend and then get 2 shots in my posterior. He then said well it could have Louise giving you those shots. NO damn way would I let her get near me. You were fine.
