The recent unexpected icing of the northeast caused me problems. I fell three times. First time, landed on my arm and hand, fortunately nothing serious. Next, went face first. Luckily my carry out food saved my face from hitting terra firma. Then the third fall I landed on my rear end, a lot harder than the other falls. That was on Sunday past. Then yesterday I had a scheduled visit from the VNs and had two get two shots and my vitals taken.
After my BP and pulse were taken, I was instructed to turn over which I did. My robe lifted up, underwear lowered, my temperature taken. The thermometer remained inserted while the shots were being given, and a minute or two later, removed and my temperature (below normal) noted. I explained to the nurses that I fell and was sore and could they hold off. They said no the shots needed to be given.
With the admonition of "We'll be as gentle as we can", I felt my bruised rear end get a cold alcohol, drenched gauze rubbed on my left cheek, then fingers spreading and tightening my skin; and then the 18g needle penetrating my buttock. My God! It truly hurt. Then the right cheek got the other 18g needle. Same reaction. Both felt like fire being injected into me.
I can't wait for Spring!
