 In the age of 19 I suffered strong pain in my abdomen which increased steadily. This was twelve years ago. Went to emergency room during the night. There was no time to examine me but they supposed an appendicitis. The plan was to verify this in the morning. For the moment they offered me a shot of painkillers. Due to the pain I agreed so I received an injection in the left buttock.It did not bother me at this time - I had received some vaccinations before, sometimes in my backside. On the other hand, this night I did not know what will happen the next days. Unfortunately, I felt no improvement of the pain. After one hour, the nurse told me I need a stronger medication.That meant that I have to get a shot in my left buttock again and another one in the right one. This helped for a few hours and before the examination in the morning this treatment was repeated. After the examaniation I needed a surgery for appendicitis. Furthermore, a strong pyelitis was find which needed to be treated with antibiotics.

Charles,

Thanks for your story. I live in Tampa and love to have old fashioned physical exams especially when the doctor prescribes shots in the butt. I was interested to hear about the doctor you visited and your description of his exam and the shots. I am considering some jobs that require a recent physical. Can you tell me if you live anywhere near the Tampa area? Would love to receive information about where he is so that I could schedule and appointment. Please reply.
