I received the injection as the alternative to going to the hospital on Christmas Eve morning to spend 2-3 days as an in-patient receiving an antibiotic IV drip to treat an infected cat bite. My arm was brilliant red up to midway between my elbow & shoulder. We were newlyweds of about four weeks & I was emphatic to the doc that I did not want to be hospitalized on our first Christmas. The doc told me to 'drop your drawers & get a good grip on the exam table' in preparation for the shot. I lowered pants & underwear to below my buttocks as instructed. I didn't see the nurse/technician enter with the injection but my bride, a registered nurse herself said 'Oh No!' I didn't turn to see what was about to be delivered but just waited. It felt like a large syringe & it was done in about 5-6 seconds from the time I felt it hit my skin. My bride didn't ask if she could give the shot & no offer was made. We had to go to another place for a tetanus shot & then wait for the shot reaction time window. That was about 20-30 minutes & by then, I had a large sore knot on that side which required a slow start to any walking. The discomfort on that side of my butt lasted about four days. She had got a fish hook caught in her palm which was rusty. We thought she needed a tetanus shot. The doctor came in and said a nurse would be in to clean her hand and give her some medication. The nurse came in with 2 syringes and laid them down in front of her. One was small and one was larger filled with a yellow medicine. He cleaned her hand and put a dressing on it. The male nurse asked my girlfriend if she wanted me to leave the room while she got the two injections. No I want him to stay in here with me. He told her she needed to lie on her stomach and lower her shorts. Of course I was enjoying this because I had not seen her naked bottom yet. She unzipped her jean shorts and pushed them down to her knees before lying flat on the bed. She had on a pair of pink panties that only covered the cneter portion of her bottom. The nurse pulled them down baring her entire butt. I watched as he pinched her left cheek and gave her to tetanus shot. She jumped as the needle touched her skin. He then uncapped a much longer needle and smacked her on her right bare butt. it went from white to bright red. The she screamed out as he stuck that large needle up to the hub in her butt. She grabbed my hand tighter and was begging that he pull it out. He told her he was almost done. He said this is a big shot. She had tears in her eyes when he removed the needle. She was bare butt naked. Just a dress, no panties and boots. I told her to bend her right leg and quickly put the DT in her left hip. I said I am done. Really you are good I didn't feel a thing. I took my time with the next shot. I quikly jabbed the 20g needle into her right cheek causing her to jump. I said now for the slow burn as i started to inject. She was begging me to pull out the needle. I said this one has a little kick to it.
