I was at work yesterday and i had this really bad sore throat and was running a fever. I am supposed to go with my boyfriend to Hawaii. I did a rapid strep and it came back positive. I went to Jason one of my co-workers that I trusted and told him I needed a shot of bicillin. I hate those shots, but I wanted to make sure we get to go Hawaii. He got 2 600,000 syringes out the fridge. I said why two. He said your butt is small and unless you want a really sore butt I thought i would give it half in each hip. I have given it many times , but this was going to be my first time i had received it. We went into a room and closed the door. I lowered my scrubs and panties and bent over. Jason looked at my bare white butt telling me I had a cute little butt. As he wiped my left butt he told me i never thought I would actually being seeing or even touching your naked butt. Then without warning i felt him drive that 18g needle deep in my butt. I screamed out and tried to relax as he started pushing the cold thick glue in my butt. Wow! No wonder those patients squirmed and cried. I stood up holding my very sore left butt cheek trying to rub it. he stood there with the other syringe and I leand over agian. This time he slapped me twice on my right cheek before sticking me. It helped to dull the stick and as he injected. he placed bandaids on both sites after wiping the blood trials off my butt. He squeezed and rubbed my butt for the net five minutes and then helped me get my scrubs up. I thanked him. I will remember next time I give the pencillin to someone to be more gentle and sympathetic.

Wow! An 18g needle...yeah, that had to hurt. I've had both 18g and 21g. I know the difference.

And being you had strep, were running a fever, did he check your temperature or did you and what method and route determined it?

Oh, and one more item here-yes, you can get a sore butt/hip from injections, but unless you've been through the Pasteure treatment (a.k.a. "rabies shots") which was for many years, a regimen of 21 very long needles one a day for twenty one days being put into your abdomen; you can't appreciate how excruciatingly painful shots can be.

Hope Hawaii is nice!
