 I had my son in the ER last night after he sprained his wrist during a hockey game. We were sitting out in triage and were called back with another young lady. We were directed to one cubicle and she was placed in the next cubicle. My son was taken to x-ray and I was instructed to wait and he would be back in a few minutes. I heard the nurse go into the next cubicle and tell the young girl she had an injection for her and it needed to go in her hip. I heard the girl say that is a big syringe. The nurse told her it was a injection of penicillin. I could see the girl sitting on the bed. She stood up and unfanstend her jeans and pulled them down and laid down on the bed on her stomach. The nurse pulled down her yellow panties exposing her bottom. I watched as the nurse uncapped a very large and long needle. Without any warning she darted her in right hip making her scream out. The poor girl began to cry as she pushed down on the plunger. It took a long time for her to empty the syringe. When she pulled out the needle a small blood trail ran down her hip. The nurse put a bandiad on the site and slapped her butt a few times and told her to get dressed and walk around the room. The poor girl limped out of her cubicle about the same time we were getting discharged. She looked at me and I think she new I had heard her crying. I told her it sounded like a pinful shot and she said you have no idea as she rubbed her hip.
