Evaluation of WQ: Treating your body better


1-Introduction:
Engaging/Opening/Writing:
The topic is life-related, so the students are driven into a realistic, real life situation, what motivates them to engage in the tasks. It well orients the learner as to what is coming.

2-Tasks:
The tasks are clear, doable and engaging. They’re kind of analytical, scientific and self-knowledge. The first part requires synthesis of multiple sources of information,
The second part, ( the reflection-individual one) is open-ended: requires that students take a position, going beyond the data given and creating a product: students are taken from basic knowledge activities to higher level thinking.

3-Process:
Roles/Expertise: Steps are clearly stated: students should know exactly what to do at each step. Different roles are assigned so that students can understand different perspectives and take responsibility to accomplish the task.
Background for everyone: All cited sites and links are available and provide students good resources in order to qualify them with the background information they need to accomplish the tasks.
Use of the web: The varied resources and links make a good use of the web. The web here is the main vehicle to access current information, multiple perspectives and multimedia. Lots of scaffolding is provided to support students achievement. There are no broken links or mechanical problems.

4-Evaluation:
The WebQuest has a rubric for evaluating the students’ work. The standards are specific to the tasks and they are clear, objective and consistent. In the rubric, criteria for success are clearly stated so that the students may have no doubts about how they will be evaluated.

5- Conclusion:
This step encourages students to reflect upon what they have just learned.
