Subject: what goes on slides?

Hi Guys!!!
I bet you won't believe it but I've got to confess something: I've NEVER not only created but also NEVER USED POWER POINT,NEVER WORKED WITH SLIDES EITHER.This is the reason I feel totally lost in this task.
See if I'm wrong: when working with slides we're supposed to have kind of a summary of the topic? is that it?
