Subject: Webquest evaluation: solar system

WEBQUEST: SOLAR SYSTEM

Introduction:
Short but grasping. The introduction has a very nice picture with some planets from the solar system. It nicely explains what learners will face while researching about the subject. The sentence "Planets for sale!" is very appealing and makes students wonder what it is all about.

Task:
It briefly explains what is needed and required to be researched. Learners will work in groups in order to find more information about the planet assigned for them. Maybe it would be more interesting if the learners had the chance to choose their own planets. However, the tasks are all plausible and achievable. The links provided are useful for the research.

Process:
The process is very clear and its division in topics are easily understood. Learners might not find problems in dividing the task among themselves. The steps are all very clear and straightforward.

Evaluation:
The webquest contains a chart with a fine description of the evaluative process. The range of criteria is especially welcome since it provides learners with an excellent perspective on how they are going to be assessed.

Conclusion:
It summarises what is expected from learners to achieve by the end of the webquest. Those expectations are all plausible and will - indeed - contribute to their academical development. The extra links for further practice enrich the quest and expand the topic by providing learners with more material to explore the subject.
