The ford V8 60 produced 60 hp on 2.2 litre at 6.6:1 compression ratio. D- Motors figures for 2.5 litres are about what would be expected. They don't seem inflated.
It is the weight and size that are exciting. It appears to me that the electronic ignition and injection don't contribute much to power, but hopefully to economy.
I feel that the engine is over-engineered and could be built much cheaper with a carb. and a distributor(or magneto). Its just too exquisite
There is a radial side valve motor using VW barrels,
if only some would develop something along this line with the VW block and watercooled side valve cylinders.
I will buy one when my plane is finished, if the company looks robust.
