Subject: Re: CMM Fixture Qustion

I work for company that really watches the bottom line so when it came time to buy a new CMM fixture plate, I thought I did my homework. I ordered a CMM fixture from a company that I thought was selling Rayco but soon found out I was wrong.

The plate I received from this other company was not flat and the holes drifted off. I think what I received was a Rayco knockoff from overseas. This posed a huge issue when I did my gage R & R. I thought that I may have to use a dedicated fixture to improve my results. I decided to call Rayco for advice. They told me that they would ship me a Rayco CMM fixture plate to do a G R & R. They also told me that I had 30 days to return the fixture plate for any reason with no restocking fees. This really put me at ease because it allowed me to test my setup without making the financial commitment.

My words of advice when buying your next CMM fixture; call the company that has been manufacturing CMM fixture plates the longest. It may save you the grief I experienced.

Thanks Rayco!

Kim
