The Red Ink

Iloilo -- Words spoken in soft and gentle manner
Mayor Joe’s advice to children is superb. He’s a good sharer.

Teaching the youth about learning to wait for the proper time
He shared about what married people do and the valuing of ‘what’s mine.’

Maybe, you can’t understand the language or dialect if you’re from Spain or America
This ‘heavenly’ message was delivered by no less than Iloilo Mayor, Espinosa

My poem will be short and before I end, I was laughing about the joke shared by the Mayor in the latter part of his speech.
It’s about the newly-wed or the couple fulfilling their ‘promise’ in bed; the lady could be a good actress, but there’s something she missed.

The lady, pretending to be pure on that wedding night. After the honeymoon, she complained of a stomach ache-an alibi so she can find the red ink of pen
So she could mark it on the white blanket, for her partner to have the impression that she’s a virgin on that wedding night but something wrong happened-mistaken.

“What’s this?”, The husband asked. Color green? There the wife noticed it was the wrong ink she got.
The red ink she misplaced which should have been the ‘proof’ of her virginity. The Iloilo mayor’s audiences laughed.
