The Man in Dau

Early dawn today, I met a man in Dau,
Like me, he’s a passenger waiting for a bus, but I never bothered to ask him where will he go.
Seated on the same pew, we conversed, but mostly he did the talking.

He is a Filipino and he got a Master Sergeant brother who is a retired U.S. veteran (of Filipino ancestry) brother who fought for the U.S. in both Korean War and Vietnam War. His brother is now a pensioner of U.S. . In short, his brother is a citizen of U.S. , he is living and he is based U.S.

He (the man in Dau) was sharing or talking to me about wars –the root of which, according to him--the looted gold by the soldiers of Japan when the economy and the power of Japan was that strong prior to World War II.

The man in Dau shared to me this:
“In 1935, Japan had 500 war boats while U.S. had only 300.”…
….so Japan was decisive in entering into war, under-estimating the strength of U.S.

He continued: “But during the war, when the Allied nations (U.S., Britain) joined forces, the Allied forces’ boat exceeded that of Japan.

Much more, what really led to Japan’s downfall was the throwing of the Atomic bomb.”

The thing that the man in Dau, Pampanga shared to me which I cannot forget is that is about my search for an answer—about who killed Ninoy.

He was honest (I believe) in telling me that it’s the CIA -That’s according to his (old man in Dau) retired Master Sergeant brother.

I won’t mention his brother’s name. For privacy purposes, I may only give a code: CGD

He continued to share: “While Ninoy was walking down the stairs from the plane, the fourth (4th) media man at the back of Ninoy holding a camera was the one who triggered the shot.

What was it ? Like me, you may ask, and how the thing was done?

The old man in Dau, aging 82, told me that the U.S. CIA camera has a hole in it where a 50-caliber bullet can pass or is inserted, and it (bullet)
can be triggered by clicking the camera…. thus, eventually scattering Ninoy’s skull.” (I’d been to the Aquino Museum in Tarlac three (3x) and I saw there the paraphernalias of Ninoy.

My long search about the assassination of Ninoy is over by believing on what I wrote here in my poem or free verse, believing what he’s (man in Dau) telling me. For me, to seriously doubt him (man in Dau) is a thing which I won’t welcome or entertain.

History would show that Ninoy had been to Boston.
In U.S. , he found an asylum, perhaps with the condition---
That he won’t ever return to the Philippines-- but this he (Ninoy) disobeyed or disregarded the warning given to him.

Death, then, was the consequence. (It’s just like in this situation that one person is giving a stern warning ‘Never do that or else…” .. a bad consequence could happen.).

Or you may picture a person, who, in the end would say ‘You never listened to my warning …and just as I told you…..(so one person experiences that which he thought might happen to him or her.’

Perhaps, Ninoy desired to come home to become the country’s president….
…and when he becomes President, he might facilitate the finding of the Yamashita treasures ‘carried’ by Admiral Yamamoto’s fleet..

..and perhaps, the U.S. knew so much about the war of the Philippines against Spain and where the Katipunero’s treasures went…

…and situations like this (lost of treasures)-as one would always know that the revolutionary wealth were entrusted to Luna, kept by Isidra, …and the U.S. may not want or allow such thing (treasures lost) to be repeated. The U.S. could have that notion that Ninoy is not pro-U.S. .
Could Ninoy be pro Japan, per se?

When U.S. gets the gold, it means something to their economy.- ‘Lo, prosperity to behold. (?)

Now my search is over based on the Old Man in Dau’s testimony.
I just wish for the Philippines to recover and become strong, striving to become a righteous nation so blessings will ever flow to this country.

Thanks to that man in Dau. Hearing him talk made my heart glad. The thing he shared was quite something new.

I was not like Forrest Gump listening to him.

I just used to make friends with people—rich and poor alike, lending my ears to them to listen to their story.

That stranger I met – the old Filipino man in Dau, I don’t know now where is he or where he was bound or where he can be found, but thanks to him, he was instrumental and he was holding the answer for my search.
As some people may say… “Finally my search is over.”.
