Clinic Activity Checklist (Proposal):

“Innovate. Replicate. Demonstrate. (IRD) ”

By Carlo Soldevilla

Prepared on May 31, 2019

( ) Painting of murals on POPCOM walls. This is an advocacy tool towards empowering Filipino Families. This project is to be done this year..(to be contracted out.).

( ) Putting up of PWFC Mini-Golf at the back of Executive Quarters

The area is about 3 meters x 3 meters, manicured with Korean Bermuda grass. The project is expected to be finished at the end of June, 2019. Sacrifices: small herbs of bananas (about 7 trees) will be cut where the golf course will be put up. This is to allow sunlight to aid the growth of Bermuda grasses by photosynthesis.

() Planting 100 eggplants at the back of the clinic. This project is sustainable. In summer, a dextrose will be attached on each plant to provide slow but continuous drip of water to sustain the plant. POPCOM will then become a model of urban gardening.

Eggplants normally begin flowering and bear fruits in 3 months time and will thrive for a period of one year. After one year, no replanting is needed. You just have to cut the eggplant 6 inches from the base or ground and it will produce another bud which will bear fruits or vegetables again after 3 months. The target date is also by the end of June.

() Putting up of dirty kitchen (makeshift but clean) at the back of clinic. This is to upgrade the dietary division of the clinic (in roasting eggplants, boiling soups by using charcoal, etc…). The target date is by the end of June

( ) Putting up ‘garbage museum’ (antiques) at the back of executive quarters. This form of art is therapeutic and for the children of patients to appreciate. The target date is by the end of June.

( ) Planting of 100 papayas at the left wing of the clinic (viewer facing the façade of the clinic.). This is to promote the papaya plant (its use). Since next year’s project of UN (?) is about food or food production that is geared towards sustainability, it is just proper that the PFWC will have to begin early. Later, we will contact our friends from the Department of Agriculture to help us know about organic farming and soil conservation techniques. Hydroponics, aquaponics and vermiculture are also nice topics to know. The target date is by the end of June

( ) Putting up of swing below the bread fruit tree. This is to promote leisure. The target date is by the end of June. (Parents have to guide their children in riding the low-level swing.).
