Upon reaching India on the first day, we were hungry and we were looking for sumptuous food,
Why you and the other staff ‘punished’ me, told me to get the canned goods? ..Was I pretty much misunderstood?

We were young that time but the youngest that time was Alex who attended the global leadership program.. Let’s go back: Carlo ‘Get the food.’
Of course, it was all done in secrecy, In India cow is sacred..and we were about to eat its meat from the tin can.. I just could (not)…

..Show the can’s brand on the dining table, Rex Serio found out that on the can was a drawing of a cow,
Had I been caught taking it with me (Rex placed it in my bag and was unnoticed by the Indian immigration officer), I may have not come back to my country of origin..Wow…

So we covered the can so the Indian kitchen crew could not see it, slowly got or remove the meat from the can…
… because that time, we just needed extra amount of energy for the body. We did not appreciate so much the Indian cuisine.

On the cultural night, that was, the last day--from the Philippines we had nothing to show for our presentation,
So you all requested me to have a singing performance, the song “India Meir Pyar (Love in India) I needed to compose and sing in my trying-hard British-Indian accent.
Should you have forgotten about the song, it’s here below, I sang it with my guitar,
On the manicured Bermuda garden that night, it was so memorable, we were right below the twinkling stars but we, Filipinos, were not wearing our Filipino costumes or attire.

Before I forget, on the third day we rode the train from Hyderabad to Bangalore--
The latter is where the Ms. Universe pageants visited..but still in that place were plenty of crows and people-Mostly poor.
Inside the air-conditioned train, you were the one ‘punished’ on the triple-deck bed..
..because you were or you stayed in the middle, and lying on the lowest deck was Rex Serio, snoring, and me on the highest deck, emitting bad gas from a trouble stomach.

I looked at you in the middle of the night and I was thinking how could you ever sleep with both me and Rex producing bad and unusual sound.
Haakkkk (snore) and Poooot (bad gas emission) ..yet I found you deep asleep as if, you never cared what was happening around you.
I saw you lying in bed, in non-REM (rapid eye movement), sleeping so well.
I was thinking how could you ever sleep with the sound of Rex and mine—your ears immune from a noisy bell?

The Bee who slept so silently is now celebrating her __ birthday,
Surely it must be a happy one like a happy meal from Jolly- - - ?

Based on the Song written by yours truly:

Only For You (Love In India or India Mein Pyar in Hindu vernacular)
---words&music by :Carlo G. Soldevilla
composed in India on March 28,2002

1.
I have flown a thousand miles
trying to find you where you are
You're like a diamond
Precious, yet so hard to find
You're always on my mind
Wherever I go I think of you
Love is a madness
taking away my sanity

Chorus:

Because of you I can attain
the thing that I ever dream of
Because of you my world has changed
everything I try to do
Only for you

2.
They say true love cannot see
Something comes back to my memory
If love is blind
Why could we walk and never fall
Only when we go hand and hand
When times are tough we can hold on
Love is a magnet
Opposing poles always attract

(Note 1: About the lady on my mind while writing this song, I cannot recall who.).

Note 2: I don’t know if ‘Punished’ would be the better title for this poem.
