The Store Talks
by Carlo G. Soldevilla

I don’t think his (Faeldon) parents told him to trek the wrong way—to become a spoiled brat as Dick explained.
He (Faeldon) just exercised his right to self defense.
He always has the right to reason and to reason out.
I stand with Faeldon like the way Batanes has stood the test of time and the way the Ivatans live by their honor code.
Before I judge Faeldon, I will first recommend for the Senate canteen to operate without the store owner manning it (senate store) even just a single day. No camera, whatsoever. If the senate store continues to operate (without the store owner) for a day or two, that could be a great news.

It’s because the Batanes honesty store represents each Ivatan.
The store talks..

..so get him out of prison and set him (Faeldon) free.
He must enjoy liberty.
Like the pen of a ready writer, Faeldon talks spontaneously.
That one may know if he is lying or not.

If he utters words that may hurt some senators, it’s because he (Faeldon) lives by his conviction.
Yes, we have had read many things about Faeldon and about his life. If he escaped (from prison) before, it’s because it was the best thing to do.
Now he may have a prisoned body but his spirit is free.

Faeldon lives by his common sense, having eyes that see, heart that feels, and a good conscience to guide him.
