The Underground
By Carlo G. Soldevilla
Written on February 22, 2018

History is what Rody knows
And he always recalls it. It shows…

…that he knows what happened in the past
Those who were oppressed until they breathed their last.

He (Rody) knows what happened in Balangiga, about the order of Smith
To smite everyone 10 years old and up—For them to be put to death.

He knows about the U.S. rejection on the selling of guns by U.S. to the Philippines
to be used in Marawi to fight against the ISIS
So he turned to China, and was provided of his needs to end that war that brought our nation devastation or great man-made calamities

He knows about the Bell Trade Act-a no, no to the Filipino First policy. For the Philippines and its economy, this was detrimental.
The act that provided equal chance for U.S. to extract our mineral resources, a form of payment for the U.S.’ help in fighting war against the Japanese..but this is favoring the U.S. citizens more than the Filipinos. Meaning, the equation was not equal.

He knows about the Filipino-American war, what led into it
Why this happened? He is not a stranger to it.

Speaking of warfare, the U.S. ‘proved’ to be very wise
This time, the U.S. ambassador to the Philippines has Asian blood
The one leading the U.S. aircraft carrier is of black or negro blood.
There’s nothing wrong to it.
Definitely, not anti –racial.
But consider that situation.
If (G-d forbid) war breaks, the U.S. ‘Asian’ Ambassador will be there to negotiate talks
Or if there needs to be advancing forces, the black leader will take the lead in the movement of logicstics because he is manning the big ship.

This time, you may not understand what I am emphasizing.
This is the meaning of It:

When David Fagen, a black American and a U.S. war veteran in Cuba was sent to the Philippines by the U.S. during the Filipino-American War, he forsook the U.S. forces and went to MIong’s (Emilio Aguinaldo) side.

Speaking of color, they (David and his black companions) could hardly fight against Filipinos whose skin is almost having the same color as theirs (because we Filipinos have brown skin color). Not all on Fagen’s side left the U.S. forces to join the Filipino soldiers.
In this war against the Filipinos, many blacks became crazy for having took part in the war right after the Filipino-American war ended. These blacks could not be visual artists but they always knew who they were fighting against even though they carried or bore with them the U.S. banner.

For 100 years, what has become of the Philippines under the influence of U.S.?
Did we really soar? Did we really have real freedom?

Presently, the U.S. has a big influence on the Philippine Military Academy considering that the Top Ten passers of the Academy exams are sent to USMA or Westpoint.
The U.S. , however does not have full control on the lives of the Filipinos. The U.S. can create strife to pressure the person or persons whom they do not like or are against the U.S. foreign policy.
Unknown to many, between Subic and Clark is an underground that even the Philippine president could not come in, unless he/she has a yellow card.

Call it underground city if you like, this underground was built secretly but was revealed by ‘blindfolded ‘Filipinos who constructed or built the underground under the U.S. supervision.
Blindfolded, in a sense, that before the person can go there, he/she is blindfold and brought underground, and upon reaching the place, he/she has to help build that ‘city.’.

The underground is a short-cut route from Clark to Subic and there is no other reason why this was built except for warfare, for easy transport of materials or logistics.

I have to end here. Shalom.
