Vinay Dhoundiyal He joined hands with Westinghouse and they both defeated Edison and JP Morgan at Niagara falls contract. He was a true genius as compared to Edison. Edison used his DC on convicts who were sentenced for death, while Tesla on the other hand used his AC current on himself. Tesla was never after money but wanted his inventions for the betterment of the world. Huge respect for Nikola Tesla!!!

Utpal Koch Actually, Edison used Tesla's AC on prisoners sentenced to death just to prove that AC was dangerous as compared to DC. For years we were aught about how great Edison was with his inventions, not realising that Edison used to have people working under him who could give him ideas and experiment for him. Tesla on the other hand got all his ideas from himself and worked hard. He died penniless and alone. Much respect should be given to this man.

Topalovic Jovana " If I would be fortunate to achieve some of my ideals, it would be on the behalf of the whole of humanity. If those hopes would become fulfilled, the most exciting thought would be that it is a deed of a Serb." Nikola Tesla, 1892. He strongly believed till the end that all people everywhere should have free energy sources. If it was up to Nikola Tesla, the world of nowadays would be much better place.

Sean Cronin He stole his ideas from Nathan Stubblefield. Check the internet. There are pictures of him attending Nathan's demonstrations BEFORE he started working on his own. He demonstrated the first wireless conversation for the US Navy. Who was in attendance: Tesla. As he claimed Marconi stole his ideas, he stole Stubblefield's. There is a movement to acknowledge Nathan but for now he is known as the Father of Radio.

Sean Cronin Good point. The cell phone is a great example of his genius. He had many ideas but unfortunately the trunk with all his notes was stolen. My point is...If you claim that Marconi stole Tesla's ideas then the photograph's of Tesla at different demonstrations proves that he did the same to Stubblefield.

Dejan Damjanovic Sean Cronin As it relates to your claim about Nathan “Most reviews of his efforts have concluded that they were not radio transmissions, because his devices, although they used a form of "wireless", employed conduction and inductive fields, while the standard definition of radio is the transmission of electromagnetic radiation”. Please stop spreading lies as it is evident by Tesla receiving the patent that he was the first one to actually explain how it would all work.

Sean Cronin Kim you make a great point. Two people can have a collaboration and be so much more than together than separate. However if you see Tesla travel that far, more then once, he was at least inspired by what he saw. He took Marconi to court for the same thing he did. He was a genius in his own right. But he had Westinghouse behind him. Stubblefield had a chest full of notebooks stolen when he was in New York while Tesla was in town. If you are suspicious over Tesla's fire, the same suspicions loom over that trunk. Check the Web for Nathan Stubblefield and you may be surprised. Thank you for commenting.

Joseph O'Toole Just a little more enlightenment, Tesla was a saved Christian. Here’s his quote from his biography.
"The gift of mental power comes from God, Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power. My Mother had taught me to seek all truth in the Bible; therefore I devoted the next few months to the study of this work."

"I soon discovered that my best comfort was attained if I simply went on in my vision further and further, getting new impressions all the time, and so I began to travel; of course, in my mind. Every night, (and sometimes during the day), when alone, I would start on my journeys — see new places, cities and countries;..

This I did constantly until I was about seventeen, when my thoughts turned seriously to invention. Then I observed to my delight that i could visualise with the greatest facility. I needed no models, drawings or experiments. I could picture them all as real in my mind. Thus I have been led unconsciously to evolve what I consider a new method of materialising inventive concepts and ideas, which is radially opposite to the purely experimental and is in my opinion ever so much more expeditious and efficient." -Nicola Tesla
(Page 11 of 'The Strange Life of Nicola Tesla')

There's a reason why his book is called, "Strange Life" of Nicola Tesla if you ask me. It's a gift not much people understand obviously
Good day

Sonmuch potential.. so many talents, bright and intelligent.. yet somehow unpopular.. was it perhaps naivity or just plain stupidity at social politics and assertiveness? Goodnaturedness will always be taken advantaged of by some scrupulous unimaginative aggresive person for their own benefit and fame. Ahh the indignation and injustice of it all!!!
