I actually agree with this. I thought, as soon as I heard Maine was 15, she had no shot at the title. She was gorgeous, but she should have waited a couple of years before competing in the Teen competition.NoPonyTailsPlease17:14:47 07/17/11 Sun
5 out of last 6 Miss Teen USA's were 18. They want a HS grad.Fact17:16:17 07/17/11 Sun
I dont know if I agree that its what they want. I do think, however, that the older girls (17-18) probably have alot more confidence and poise on stage, not to mention a stronger ability to communicate well in interview. The same can be said for the MISS division. How often do you see a 19 year old win Miss USA? Usually the stronger contestants are a little older. ICEMAN06:35:03 07/18/11 Mon
I agree with this as well....save yourself (your parents) the $5,000.00 + it's going to cost to compete. Total waste of time if you're 14 to 16...Lynne<311:29:11 07/18/11 Mon

You really cannot fufill your oblications if you are still in HSthey should just up the age requirement to 17-19, they had them as young as 13 in the past (at the state comp)15:20:49 07/24/11 Sun

What was said about Maine teen was so true. I had her in my top 5 for sure and was not happy when she didnt make the cut. I really hope we see her as a miss in about 5 years. Maine might get a win then.Lynn16:46:47 04/05/12 Thu

Re: IF YOU ARE NOT 17-18 FORGET MISS TEEN USAhonestly, I believe the reign would be too overwhelming for a young teen, JMO21:47:17 07/29/12 Sun

I agree the trend seems to be national winners are 17-18; however, if you want the experience, you have to start competing and if you happen to up and win your state title at a young age, what do you do? (NT)ToughOne12:10:36 11/07/12 Wed
