Didn't know Germany had a polizi. Always thought it was the Polizei. And their training is 2-3 years depending on how many years of secondary schooling you had. Maybe, you've never been to the European Union. The police cars in individual European Union states vary greatly in color and graphics and makes and models etc. etc.
What you apparently don't understand (and maybe can't because you are a federal employee, no pun intended, most of us appreciate the job you are doing for us whatever it is) is that in the U.S. we are very localized, decentralized, and strong on states' rights and local rule. The Feds have no right to interfere in telling local dept. what colors to fly on their lightbar (there's no interstate commerce in that and Congress has not given a respective specific right to the feds to do that, the only two ways you can get a federal mandate) and they shouldn't be able, too. Just like Dave implied, it's great to see the wide variety and peculiarities of local departments colors etc. Makes us more special than the boring blue lights you see just about anywhere else in the world indicating police. What matters is that a vehicle is clearly identifiable as an emergency vehicle and that folks have the courtesy and common sense to follow the law and give them the right of way be it red or blue or whatever it is... That's what matters.
