I would first like to extend a simple appology for my last post. You did provide a good point, that has made me change my mind about the restoration of my '85 Gran Fury. I will restore it as original, decals and all. On all the fire trucks I have restored, I always done the restoration to original use condition. Why should the cop car be any different?
NOW, for the part were I fire back at your comments.
I was pulled over my OSP 3 times in 1992 and 1 time in 1993, because they had never encountered an antique cruiser before, after a small time on the side of the road, and a chat wit a post commander, I was sent on my way to the car shows I was headed for.
It's a shame you have such low self worth that you feel the need to fire off comments without posting your name. In the fire service, we believe in owning up to what we say. My guess is that your probably not even a cop, you may not even own a car. Your probably some low rate security gaurd who couldn't pass the pshyc exam for a police job. If you are a cop, you need a serious attitude adjustment.
And all this talk about being blackballed, who is going to blackball me? You? WHO CARES! If I spent time thinking about what everyone says about what I do, I wouldn't have time to live a normal life, which I suggest you try.(ie: Get A life)
To think that only you and those who think like you should be the only ones allowed to restore old cop cars is stupid and closed minded.
It's a shame a person can't post a simple question on this board without being assaulted by the Police Car Nazis.
I guess I will leave this board to you, as you are obviously out of my league.
And all I did was ask a stupid question about a roofbrace, on a car that won't even see the road untill it's finished being restored.

Dan just ignore the troublemakers, they really enjoy busting your balls - you made their day. But just for your info, I have had the headliners out of several old Furys and the bracing I saw ran from the windshield header to the middle top bow, it was about 12" wide and at least 1/8 inch thick to support the beacon mounted to it. Would probably be hard to install with the windshield in place. (NT)Just some more info12:54:53 12/02/02 Mon
