And the specs are what I put on the first post! There is no changin them!
I dont know what you,ve done/driven etc... nor do i care!
My uncle is the original owner after he drove and retired it, and I know what work was done to it!
I heard the story of the POOR PERFORMANCE of these Fords, and I NO LONGER believe them!
My uncle told me THE ONLY REASON he purchased this car after the duty was because it was the fastest one in the fleet! And yes there were a few Dodges 440's there and a Chevy (not known which model)!
He said the Ford would pull away from the Dodges, END OF STORY! period
The specs I gave you are what my 460 has... maybe its different then everybody elses (I doubt it) and I ran a 15.4 at the track at close to 90 mphs.
This summer I will try again, with a 3 inch exhaust (thats gonna be the real only dif)
I heard these fords ran 17's BUT obviously mine is much faster!
Funny cause my friends mom had a New yorker 77 and it ran 17s! with the 440. (yes shes been to the track LOL)
The truth about beatin 5.0's and so on,,, I did not lie... I never back downf from anybody!
The very last mustang I raced was from a rollin start.. I was cruisin about 35 Mph's and a guy pulled up along side and was tauntin me! so we stepped on it and up to about 70 Mph's we were neck and neck!
We pulled of to a crusin spot and everybody came over to see what i had, Well after i seen his 5.0 with an edelbrock intake and other mods.. i was shocked that I even tied him!
NO WONDER there was a croud around me!
As for the racin scene here... Last summer there was like a epidemic here.. the cops were closin down streets here cause the street racin was so bad..
I just heard they are filming scences for Fast and the Furious 2 here on the strip!
OH YAH< ive driven a regular 460 in a lincoln... not sure what year it was (early 70's?) anyways there was absolutly NO comparison to power with my PI.. ABSOLUTLY no comparison!
I mean the Lincoln made alot of noise (4 barrels) but it definitly didnt give me the kick that the PI does...
Oh yah I also drove a 71 Corvette with the 454 375 Horse Vette.. and yes it was a lil bagged.. BUT also didn't give me the kick that my PI does!
At 35 mph's cruisin.. and I stomp it.. you'd better have 2 hands on the wheel, cause she will break loose.. I mean I wasnt allowed to drive the car till I was in my 20's! my uncle said it was to dangerous!
Wait till I tell him you said it has poor performance!
Wait till I tell the guy in the 429 Mustang that blew his motor trying to get away from my uncle (when he was a cop) chasin him up a mountain that it has poor performance!
Wait till I tell the guy in the Modded 5.0 that I raced before that it has poor performance!
Wait till I tell the guy in the LT-1 Caprice that my car has shitty performance!
Just wait till I tell my cuz in the 92 Vette (with mods/CHIP) that my car has shitty performance!
I'm definitly not the only one with shitty performance!
You know another thing I just thought was funny!
I met this SMART ASS like you before, He was a head mechanic in a garage, and I was havin fuel pump problems!
I took the PI in there and told him about the problem, and he said the pump is on the block, and I said no its in the tank! He gave me a shitty look and said dont argure with me and its on the block!
(this guy races every weekend at the track, he's got a 11 second camaro and is well known in town for his good work)
Well he didnt know nothin about my car, he said just put a 429 pump on the block... so I did and it was starvin for fuel whenever i floored it! I had to go get a Holley pump to give me enough fuel to feed the 4 Barrel!
BUT oh yah, there was enough fuel for cruisin, but when I put my foot down.. it would go for about 4 seconds then start boggin from lack of fuel!... anyways I tried 3 different pumps and none worked... until the holley with a fuel regulater.. then never starved for fuel again!
My Ford PI hauls ass PERIOD! I could sit here and tell you the incidents, with that car, but I dont have the next 3 years to write them all down!
Whenever & If-ever I go to a Chicago show, and you show up DREAMIN of ownin a real old cop car.. come up and say hi.. tell me your the "KNOW IT ALL", and Ill take ya for a spin on the I-90 out of Chicago! and We'll be in Wisconsin in a matter of minutes LOL!
Then if you have the NERVE to tell me it has poor performance (then you better give your head a shake) BUT i think youll be hangin on for life like most passengers in my car, when I'm demonstrating the power!
I cant think of many races where I lost... The worst ever was a 71 Cuda HEMI! here in town a Purple Cuda with a hemi!
And even from a rollin start he WIPES THE FLOOR WITH ME! LITERALLY! oh yah and a 69 Vette Wiped me out also!
PRETTY GOOD considering thats all I can remember of losin!
I sure remember the winnin and the looks on the faces of the loserz!
