Subject: Don't get me wrong, white cars will look way better than dark grey, but from a practical perspective, the grey cars are probably much more effective when "surprising" unsespecting speeders.

In reply to: Why does everyone try to overthink things all the time? 's message, "Did anyone stop to think that maybe someone at the OHP made an executive decision and just decided that white cars looked better in their opinion?" on 11:11:53 12/10/02 Tue

Our cars are black and I run traffic all night long with OSP on I-70 and I can catch more people because they can't see my car in the median, not to mention I don't have reflective gold stripes down the side either. The white cars up to '81 were awesome, but they were also Mopars for the most part and that helped, plus no stripes on them, just the wing and the wheel, very clean! I think the part about being visible and the fact two of our Troops were killed last year was a political move, they know this won't really help a damn thing and if some drunks gonna run off the road and into a lit up cruiser, he's gonna do it no matter what.
