In reply to: David 's message, "decal residue removal?" on 13:14:09 09/16/02 Mon

Another good way to get the gunk off is to first pressure wash the entire car, if the decals have been removed for some time that glue has sucked up a lot of dirt and dust. The pressure washer will knock most of that off and then there is less chance of scratching the remaining paint when removing the glue, the water will also soak into the glue and many times you can just blow a lot of the glue off with the wand from the pressure washer. To get the remainder off try rubbing alcohol, also there are lots of chemicals out there that can be purchased from automotive paint supply houses, the problem with most of them is that they are hazardous to use and can make you sick with repeated exposure, take the warnings on the labels seriously, use a good respirator and solvent proof gloves when working with these products.
