I have never figured out the Taurus. If you buy a civilian CV new, it is only about $1K diff.from the Taurus after shopping. Problems aside, that transmission in the Taurus will drive you nutz holding 3rd gear on light throttle until 42mph and not downshifting from 4th at 20mph. And then if the taurus is actually a police model, the cv joints are probably shot. I rarely see a taurus police unit that even makes it to auction. In my area they are so low in value that they are given to the building inspectors.
